Kenyan Woman Travels to Nigeria With Son to Meet Boyfriend, Faces Unexpected Outcome

A Kenyan woman who travelled to Nigeria with her young son to meet her boyfriend is seeking help to return home after the trip allegedly ended in an unexpected ordeal.

Mwende Muli, a resident of Kilome Constituency in Makueni County, reportedly travelled to Nigeria after her Nigerian boyfriend encouraged her to visit him. She expected to spend time with him before returning to Kenya with her child.

However, Mwende claims her situation changed after she arrived in the country. She says she was taken to a village where she was mistreated before being left without the support she needed.

With the help of friends and other Kenyans, Mwende was later able to raise enough money to travel to Lagos. She is now staying at a church in the city together with her son as she looks for assistance to return to Kenya.

Her main challenge is the cost of air tickets for herself and the child. She has appealed to the Kenyan government, well-wishers and members of the public to help raise the money needed for their journey home.

Her situation has attracted attention on social media, with Kenyans expressing concern and calling for assistance. Some users have encouraged members of the public to contribute towards helping the mother and child, while others have urged Kenyan officials to explore available consular support.

Mwende’s account has also raised questions about the risks people can face when travelling abroad to meet romantic partners without secure accommodation, financial backup or a reliable support network.

For now, Mwende and her son remain in Lagos as they wait for assistance. She hopes to raise enough money to secure their flight and reunite with relatives in Makueni.
