"Ni Pesa Yako Wanakula Tu" Ruto Warned After Thousands of UDA Aspirants Throng to State House

Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has cautioned President William Ruto to brace for what he described as a political “rude shock” in the 2027 general election, arguing that support within the ruling party may not be as solid as it appears.

In a strongly worded post shared on X, the outspoken lawmaker claimed that many individuals presenting themselves as aspirants under the United Democratic Alliance banner were primarily motivated by financial gain rather than genuine political commitment.

According to Amisi, several of those recently seen visiting State House were merely seeking monetary handouts.

He cited Nairobi as a key example, noting that the party has attracted 112 parliamentary hopefuls in Nairobi County despite the county having only 17 constituencies. This, he said, translates to roughly seven aspirants per constituency, leaving many with no realistic path after party nominations.

Amisi questioned what would happen to the six candidates likely to lose out in each area, dismissing expectations that they would be absorbed into government appointments. “Where will they go after nominations? Appointed where, by whom and why?” he posed, terming such hopes unrealistic.

He further argued that Nairobi remains largely anti-government and historically functions as a swing region. Areas such as Embakasi East, Kibra, Westlands and Kasarani, which he described as opposition strongholds, would be difficult terrain for UDA candidates.

The MP added that even potential cooperation with Orange Democratic Movement would only marginally improve the party’s chances, insisting that urban voters traditionally resist sitting governments.

His remarks highlight growing internal concerns over strategy and expectations within the ruling party as the next election cycle approaches.
