What Sifuna is Allegedly Been Doing After Ruto Refused to Appoint Him Minister

Belgut Member of Parliament Nelson Koech has now alleged that ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna's opposition to President William Ruto is completely personal.

Sifuna is among top ODM leaders who have remained opposed to the party's closeness with Ruto and his government, even as the remainder of the party chooses to move with the President.

Koech claims that this is because Sifuna wanted to be included among ODM leaders who were picked to serve in Ruto's cabinet, a wish that did materialise, leaving him a bitter man.

According to the close Ruto ally, the Nairobi Senator seems to have now vowed to try his best to destabilise Ruto's government as his way of getting revenge.

The MP says that Sifuna's bitterness is even evident in how he conducts himself when those who were named Cabinet Secretaries appear in senate, pointing out that his questions are always personal and malicious.

“Edwin Sifuna had wanted the position of Cabinet Secretary, and when he did not get it, he became a bit giddy. Look at the questions that he poses to those who were picked, especially when they appear before the Senate," he said on Thursday.

“They are personal. He looks like an extremely bitter person. I am telling you now that Edwin Sifuna had requested the position of cabinet secretary."

Sifuna has teamed up with a number of other top ODM figures, including EALA MP Winnie Odinga, to oppose Ruto's 2027 reelection bid, even as the party moves towards pre-election negotiations with the government.
