"Mbona Munaacha Niteseke?" Ruto as He Lectures His Community Over The Following

President Ruto today lectured his Kalenjin Community over voter registration ahead of next year's general elections.

Speaking at the burial of CS Davis Chirchir, Ruto switched to Kalenjin dialect and lectured his community over a huge number of residents from his backyard who are yet to register as voters.

According to Ruto, there are 1.8 million residents from his community who have National IDs but are yet to register as voters. He also noted that there are half a million who have attained the age of 18 years but are yet to register for National IDs.

In that regard, Ruto accused his community of letting him suffer as he tries to look for votes that will enable him win yet there are over 2 million residents from his community who are yet to register as voters.

"Now you give me a huge job, to kneel, to suffer while borrowing votes from other people yet there are some from home. Hapana, Hapana!" Ruto said.

The statements by President Ruto come ahead of next year's general elections where he is expected to defend his seat.

He wondered why his community has let him to suffer searching for votes from other parts of the country.

"Mbona munaacha niteseke niende nikope ya nyumba zingine, niende nikipigia makoti ya nyumba zingine na kuna za nyumbani" President Ruto said when loosely translated from Kalenjin.

He lectured those yet to register, wondering what their plans are before pleading with them to help him.

He argued that if those from his community who are yet to register, do so then his task of looking for votes from other regions that will enable him win will not be too heavy.
